Anneliese Michel: The Exorcism That Ended in Tragedy

Описание

What happens when a medical mystery becomes a battle between faith and fear? Crime Report with Christina Randall explores the tragic story of Anneliese Michel, a young German woman who underwent 67 Catholic exorcism rites after years of psychiatric treatment failed to improve her condition. As her family became convinced she was possessed, doctors were consulted less and the exorcisms continued ultimately ending in her death from malnutrition and dehydration. With her parents and two priests later convicted of negligent homicide, the case raised haunting questions about mental illness, religious belief, responsibility, and where faith ends and tragedy begins.
