657. Why Knowing Your DNA is VITAL for Personalized Medicine and Disease Prevention

Описание

In this episode, I’m joined by Dr. Tracey Steady Hardcastle, Clinical Director of The DNA Company, to talk about what our genetics can actually tell us about our health. We use my own genetic report as a real-life example, looking at why people can respond so differently to thyroid medication, hormone therapy, nutrition, and lifestyle changes, and why a more personalized approach matters. Dr. Tracey walks through some fascinating findings from my report, including estrogen metabolism, thyroid hormone conversion, detoxification, methylation, stress, and genetic risk. We also talk about what genetic testing can and can't tell us, and why having a genetic predisposition doesn't mean a particular health outcome is inevitable. What you’ll learn: Why the same treatment can affect two people very differently What your genetic “blueprint” can reveal about your health What my DNA report showed about estrogen and thyroid hormones The role genetics can play in detoxification and methylation How stress can interact with your genetic makeup What ApoE and other genetic risk markers really mean Why your genes aren't necessarily your destiny If you’ve ever wondered why the same treatment doesn’t work for everyone, struggled to find the right approach to your thyroid or hormones, or simply wanted to understand what your own genetics might be telling you, tune in to this conversation with Dr. Tracey Steady Hardcastle.
