This book curates and chronicles numerous challenges facing Jamaican children. They live in a society teeming with a plethora of negative influences that jeopardize their safety and healthy development. These negative influences have resulted in the loss of too many innocent young lives and continue to put survivors at risk. It is written by a concerned Jamaican academic to educate, shock, and stir his country’s leaders and fellow Jamaicans into committing to do right by the nation’s children. The loss of every Jamaican child to violence and crime is a harrowing reminder that they are dying to be safe in their homeland. The author entreats Jamaicans to embrace a national ambition of acting collectively to make the phrase ‘our children are our future’ a real pledge rather than an empty cliché.Read more
