Paws to Walk in the Woods: Dogs, Horses, and Kindred Spirits on the Trails of the Cross-Florida Greenway

Dr. Stacey takes you from childhood to grandmotherhood in this feel-good memoir of dog walks, cycling, and horse rides on the Cross-Florida Greenway. Her living history of the barge canal is peppered with fun facts about dogs, horses, and wildlife on the preserve. In this memoir of pet-friendly health and wellness, she takes you on dog walks and horse rides through steep, rocky slopes and tall, flat pines. You'll read about walks with pigs, trail rides with coyotes, bobcats, bunnies, and natural horsemanship. In the trailhead overviews, she describes the best parts of the greenway for your favorite pet-friendly activities. You'll be inspired by the repurposing of this spectacular 110-mile corridor of land with sixteen miles of a paved fitness trail and hundreds of miles of walking, cycling, and horse paths. If you can't reach the Cross-Florida Greenway, you'll want to enjoy a walk with your furry ambassador or a horse ride on the trails near home.Read more
