A Safe Place

"what do you think the purpose of your life is?" the therapist asked me. "To keep everybody happy" I replied. I had thought that my life was going to be brilliant, I was at the peak of my career, and engaged to the love of my life. I felt untouchable and like nothing was out of my reach. Suddenly though piece by piece my life began to fall apart, and I fell apart with it. As everything I knew of life and my planned future started slipping through my fingers I was plunged into a world of constant anxiety and fear that saw me run head first into a breakdown. Locked in a world of depressive thoughts, anxiety and panic so severe that I feared leaving the house, I was just desperate to find a safe place. This is my story of my battle with a nervous breakdown, anxiety, agoraphobia and depression, and how I found the strength to take back control of my life.Read more
