You Need to Know About the "Frozen Trucker" Case

Deskripsi

“The sensation of not feeling my feet at all prompted me to panic,” said Alphonse Maddin, plaintiff in the “frozen trucker” case at a press conference in 2017. Maddin was hauling a shipment of meat across several midwestern states one night in 2009 when the breaks on his trailer froze and the heat went out in his truck. Instead of panicking, he called the TransAm dispatch center for help and they told him to “simply hang in there,” according to Maddin. “As I sat there physically suffering in the cold,” Maddin said, “I started having thoughts that I was going to die.” In this season of Slow Burn: Becoming Justice Gorsuch, host Susan Matthews dives deep into the “frozen trucker” story, how it directly relates to major decisions being made right now by the Supreme Court, and how this all relates to the history of the Court’s most unexpected wild card, Justice Neil Gorsuch.
