I'm going to say something that might make you uncomfortable: Your labor just became obsolete. Not cheap. Worthless. While you were building your career plan around Africa's "demographic dividend"—our young population as our competitive advantage—AI quietly made that advantage irrelevant. The foreign trader is about to replace 20 workers with automated warehouses. The Foreign contractor is bringing AI-powered machinery instead of hiring locals. The Foreign wholesaler is using software instead of clerks. This is the most honest conversation I've had about AI in Africa. No hype. No Silicon Valley fantasy. Just the reality of what's coming—and what I'm doing about it while building Lubembo. This episode is for you if: - You're worried about AI destroying jobs in Africa - You're building a business and wondering how AI fits - You're tired of tech hype that ignores African realities - You want honest analysis, not fear-mongering or blind optimism - You're ready to choose: Passive or Builder 💡 The uncomfortable truth: Colonization taught us to wait. Missionaries taught us wealth is sinful. Post-independence taught us to seek favors. AI doesn't care about our excuses. The only question: Which African will you be African A (Passive): Waits for government solutions. Fears technology. Hopes for foreign aid. Watches opportunities pass. African B (Builder): Uses AI as a tool. Experiments. Fails. Learns. Builds. Connects the informal sector. Exports. Scales. Which African are you? Tell me in the comments. No judgment—just clarity.
