How to Fund a Startup Yourself

Deskripsi

In this week’s #LuckyCut, I’m talking with the founders of Sensori about what it *really* looked like to fund their business before investors showed up. Spoiler: it wasn’t a perfectly structured seed round. It started with good credit, steady jobs, and a willingness to take a risk on themselves. The early days of building a business are usually scrappier than people admit. They walk me through how they maxed out a 20K credit card to produce their first run of cans while cycling payments to keep production moving. Three months later, Sensori sold out their first 5,000 cans and made $25K, opening the door to raise capital. What followed wasn’t some perfectly polished fundraising strategy — it was pitching on Zoom and refining the deck between calls while casually posting on Instagram that they were looking for angel investors. And somehow… it worked. If you’ve ever felt like you can’t start because you don’t have the “right” funding yet, this moment is a reminder that sometimes the first round of capital is simply belief, momentum, and the willingness to make something shake with what you have.
