#SRPAY #truecrime #india #documentary The tragic story of Soumya, a 23-year-old woman from Kerala, shocked the entire nation back in 2011. She was traveling alone in the ladies compartment of the Ernakulam-Shoranur passenger train when she was attacked by a man named Govindachamy, a repeat offender with a criminal past. What happened next was horrifying—she was brutally assaulted, fell off the moving train, and later found with grievous injuries on the railway tracks. After battling for her life in the hospital, Soumya passed away on February 6, 2011.This case sparked massive protests and public outrage, with many demanding justice for Soumya. The Thrissur Fast Track Court awarded Govindachamy the death penalty for rape and murder, and the Kerala High Court upheld the sentence. However, in 2016, the Supreme Court of India reduced his sentence, acquitting him of the murder charge due to lack of evidence that he pushed her from the train, while retaining his conviction for rape and other offenses. The decision led to widespread backlash and emotional reactions across Kerala and India.Years later, in July 2025, the case returned to headlines when Govindachamy escaped from Kannur Central Jail in a shocking jailbreak incident. He was captured just hours later, but the event reignited public anger and raised serious questions about prison security in India. This video explores the full timeline of the Soumya case—from the tragic incident, the court trials, the controversial Supreme Court verdict, to the recent escape and its aftermath.Tags:Soumya case KeralaGovindachamy Soumya caseSoumya rape case documentarySoumya murder case explainedGovindachamy jailbreak 2025Kannur jail escape caseSoumya Supreme Court verdictSoumya case full timelineTrue crime KeralaSoumya case latest updateErnakulam Shoranur train crimeSoumya case videoKerala true crime storyIndian train rape caseGovindachamy Kannur Central Jail Hosted on Acast.
