"Budok Mecca reti kecek Arab" | Life as a Thai who speaks Arabic #23 | تايلاندية كبرت في السعودية

Deskripsi

In Episode 23 of the podcast, we’re joined by a special guest, Huda, who is originally from Thailand but grew up in Dammam, Saudi Arabia giving her a background very similar to ours. We talk about what life was like growing up in Saudi as non-Saudi kids, the reactions and assumptions people make when they find out we’re “from Saudi,” and how identity can feel confusing when your culture and upbringing don’t match what people expect. Huda also shares her Thailand backstory, how she stayed connected to her roots, and how her experience differs from ours especially when it comes to language, as she speaks and writes Thai fluently. To end the episode on a fun note, we play a short game where we test their Thai language skills, leading to laughs, surprises, and a lighthearted wrap-up. A relatable and entertaining conversation about culture, language, identity, and growing up between worlds. 💬 Join the conversation: Have you ever been judged or misunderstood because of where you grew up?
