Deskripsi

In 1762, during the global conflict known as the Seven Years' War, British forces launched a shocking invasion of Manila — the heart of Spanish Asia. Within weeks, the capital of the Spanish East Indies fell. But here’s what most history books don’t tell you… Britain didn’t just want Manila. They wanted the Philippines. In this video, we break down: • Why Great Britain attacked • How Spain was caught unprepared • The fall of Manila • The rise of resistance led by Simón de Anda y Salazar • And how the British occupation of Manila nearly changed Asian history forever If Britain had succeeded fully, the Philippines might have become permanently British — long before Hong Kong or Singapore ever existed under British rule. This was not just a local war. It was part of the first true world war. And Manila was one of its most important battlegrounds. Watch until the end — because the outcome shocked Europe.
