4 Ancient Inventions That Resemble Modern Machines

Deskripsi

Two thousand years ago, ancient engineers were measuring the Earth, predicting the sky, building earthquake-resistant cities, and transporting water across deserts — without electricity, computers, or modern science. In this video, we explore 4 ancient technologies that still challenge modern assumptions: • The Greek astrolabe — a handheld device that calculated time and latitude using the stars • Polygonal stone walls that survive earthquakes centuries later • The Roman odometer — a mechanical distance counter built into a cart • Persian qanat systems — underground gravity-fed water networks that lasted over a thousand years These were not myths. They were working systems. Precise. Repeatable. Reliable. This is not about what ancient people believed. It’s about what they built — and how it worked. If knowledge was embedded into metal, stone, and geometry long before modern engineering, one question becomes unavoidable: How did they know this? --- Disclaimer: Some visuals shown in this video are AI-generated and used only for illustrative purposes.
