The Political Game - Why Voters Keep Losing

Can a multiparty system work in the United States? Americans have a hundred flavors of ice cream to choose from, and demand new models of everything each year. Yet why do they only have two political parties to choose from? For six decades, reform after reform has made it easier to vote in the United States, but voter turnout has barely budged. What might get more people vote? What if there were more than two political parties to choose from? What if America shifted away from plurality voting and its zero sum game? What would happen if America shifted to proportional voting, where multiple leaders were ranked by preference, and no vote was wasted? What would happen if the people made known the government that commanded its respect? Would they be one step closer to obtaining it? What if Americans stepped away from the surface labels of "Democrat" or "Republican?" If you are fed up with only having “pick a side” politics in America, then this book is for you. Break free of political labels, and take a moment to explore the thought experiment of enhanced democracy.Read more
