The Myths of Success: A Woman of Color's Guide to Leadership

Why a book for women of color on leadership?Because women of color make up about 20 percent of the US population yet only 1 percent of CEOs. Women of color occupied 6 percent of C-Level positions in 2023, far below White men (56 percent) and White women (22 percent).Women of color don’t face a glass ceiling. They face a concrete ceiling. It’s impossible to see how to break through a concrete ceiling. Here is a book that gets to the heart of what women of color face and how to rise. Whether you are just beginning your career or already in the C-Suite, this book exposes the myths that keep us from our seat at the table.Filled with proven strategies and personal stories from 53 women leaders of color, mostly CEOs, we look at what helped them achieve extraordinary success. This book:Builds self-love, self-compassion, and self-confidence to trust ourselves and our own wisdomCracks the code on self-defeating patterns and myths that hold us back and how to overcome themShares strategies of how to build a community and network and lead authenticallyTeaches how to overcome imposter anxiety and break free from doubts, fears, and internalized patriarchal programming that plagues many women leaders of colorProvides proven best practices and a roadmap to advance women of color in the workforce and create the workplaces we want where all of us can belong and thriveFor allies who are not women of color, develops empathy by walking in the shoes of women of colorInformed by current research and Analiza Quiroz Wolf’s own life experiences as an Asian American former non-profit CEO, former US Air Force captain, and executive coach for women leaders of color, this book is a practical manifesto on how to crack the concrete ceiling.Read more
