Dramatic action stories from Australia’s past:The Lachlan Bushrangers– Frank Gardiner got out of Cockatoo Island Prison with no intention of going straight. They lived violently and died violently. The Lambing Flat Riots– The gold rush brought anti-Chinese riots culminating in a deadly clash between diggers and police troopers.Captain Moonlite– From pastor to bushranger. Andrew Scott, obsessed with a need for recognition, led a gang of young men in a vain attempt at bushranger glory that ended at the Darlinghurst gallows.Squizzy Taylor– There was plenty of gangland shooting in Melbourne in the 1920s, and Taylor was in the thick of it.The Bombing Of Darwin– The surprise Japanese attack on Darwin called Australia’s Pearl Harbour, with personal stories of those beneath the bombs and the sacrifice of Australian and American servicemen who perished there.History dramatised in the same fashion as its companion volumeHistoric Gunfights Of Australia.Read more
