The truth about Skincare Myths, from a Top Ugandan Dermatologist, Dr Malik Ssempereza

Description

In this episode of It’s Never That Serious, I sit down with Ugandan dermatologist Dr. Malik Ssempereza, who has been practicing since 2012. He shares the journey that led him to specialize in dermatology, starting with how he noticed a gap in skincare expertise in Uganda. He also opens up about the challenges he faced including studying on and off for five years due to financial setbacks. Today, Dr. Malik proudly describes himself as a healthpreneur. He’s the founder of Unity Skin Clinic, Roswell Women and Children’s Hospital, and the creator of Clabane, a skincare brand made specifically for African skin. We talked about everything from why most international skincare brands don’t work for African skin, to the most overrated skincare product and ingredient that people are still spending money on. Dr. Malik also debunked some of the most common skincare myths and gave us the real truth about anti-aging treatments including when you should actually start using them. As always, it’s a mix of laughs, lessons, and lighthearted banter. We even got into his personal life from movie and music preferences to the wisdom he’s picked up along the way. Remember, it’s never that serious. The views shared are personal and meant to educate, entertain, and keep things honest. #itsneverthatserious #DrMalikSsempereza #Sabrinaagasha #ugandapodcast #itsneverthatseriouspodcast
