The Stark Munro Letters V - Merton on the Moors, 5th March, 1882

Description

In which the earnest narrator recounts his move to a bleak Yorkshire mining town, where he finds companionship and ceaseless toil amid the humble folk, all the while wrestling with profound reflections on faith, nature, and the moral order of the universe. He concludes with tidings of a bold opportunity in Bradfield, a summons from an old acquaintance promising fortune, which sets the stage for a hopeful turning in his fortunes.
