Description

Lara struggles with planning her mother's funeral, while her friends rally around her. Zuri faces pressure at work to secure land for a major project, and Adesuwa battles the ongoing fallout of Soji's mounting debts. In Episode 2 of The Smart Money Woman, grief, pressure and buried truths begin to crack the carefully controlled lives of the women. As Lara struggles to cope with the devastating loss of her mother, the funeral preparations quickly spiral into emotional and financial chaos. Relatives descend with endless demands, arguments erupt over burial traditions, and the cost of giving her mother a “befitting” send-off threatens to overwhelm everyone around her. Beneath the noise and ceremonies, Lara is forced to confront the painful reality of losing the one person who always held her family together. Elsewhere, Adesuwa continues to navigate the emotional wreckage of her collapsing marriage. As she battles feelings of rejection, shame and self-doubt after her husband’s betrayal, pressure from her mother to “fight for her marriage” pushes her to a breaking point. In one of the episode’s most vulnerable moments, Adesuwa finally asks the question she has been avoiding: who has been fighting for her? Zuri finds herself caught between mounting pressure at work, tension in her relationship and relentless expectations from her deeply religious mother, who becomes convinced that spiritual forces are preventing her daughter from getting married. Meanwhile, financial secrets, risky business decisions and unresolved romantic history begin to surface across the group, reminding everyone that appearances can only hold for so long before reality catches up. As the women lean on each other through grief, heartbreak and uncertainty, Episode 2 explores the emotional cost of trying to hold everything together while quietly falling apart. _______________________________________________________________ For full episodes of The Smart Money Tribe Podcast, subscribe to our channel: https://bit.ly/35Kw2ZF 🎙️ Listen to Th
