Description
Ukraine is on course to start formal EU membership talks after Hungary dropped its opposition. For 17 months, Hungary had vetoed Ukraine’s plans to join the European Union. But everything changed when Viktor Orbán was ousted. His successor Peter Magyar lifted the veto following a deal agreed on the rights of Hungarian minorities living in Ukraine. But for some member states, the prospect of absorbing a country the size of Ukraine - still at war - raises serious concerns.
