Tanzania abductions: The families with no news and no hope - BBC Africa

Description

People who criticize the state are disappearing in Tanzania. Rights groups have raised concerns about activists and opposition members going missing. While others have not been found, some have come back with tales of horrific torture. The BBC has spoken to people affected by this worrying trend. The government of Tanzania denies it has anything to do with the disappearances. As the country heads towards elections in October, all eyes are on the East African nation and its treatment of those who disagree with the government. 🎤 Reporter: Alfred Lasteck 🎥 🎞️: Filmed and edited: Eagan Salla 🎬: Produced by Christine Otieno and Alfred Lasteck Subscribe: http://bit.ly/subscribetoafrica Website: https://www.bbc.com/africa Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bbcnewsafrica/ Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/bbcafrica/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bbcafrica/
