Stray Dog Case: Supreme Court Allows Euthanasia Of Rabid And 'Dangerous Dogs' To Curb Threat

Description

Stray Dog Case: Supreme Court Allows Euthanasia Of Rabid And 'Dangerous Dogs' To Curb Threat The Supreme Court has barred criminal proceedings against officials implementing its orders to curb stray dog attacks, while authorizing euthanasia for rabid, incurably ill, or aggressively dangerous dogs to protect human life. In the case In Re: "City Hounded by Strays, Kids Pay Price" v. The State of Andhra Pradesh, a three-judge Bench led by Justices Vikram Nath, Sandeep Mehta, and NV Anjaria ruled that the right to live with dignity includes living free from the fear of dog bites in public spaces . The Court criticized the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Rules for being sporadically implemented, underfunded, and uneven, leading to a crisis-driven response rather than effective management. It noted that dog bite incidents, especially affecting children, the elderly, and travelers, continue with alarming frequency due to poor enforcement of earlier directions . #StrayDogCase #SupremeCourtIndia #EuthanasiaRuling #DogBiteCrisis #RabiesPrevention #AnimalWelfare #ABCRules2023 #DelhiStrayDogs #DangerousDogs #PublicSafety #republicworld #RepublicTV #BreakingNews #RepublicNews #IndiaNews #LiveNews #RepublicExclusive #RepublicWorldLive #ArnabGoswami #RepublicDigital #NationFirst Watch this LIVE coverage as tensions continue to rise in West Asia amid the Iran conflict.
