So This Happened (EP 373) reviews: Senate approves electronic result transmission ahead of 2027

Description

The Nigerian Senate has approved electronic transmission of election results to INEC’s IReV portal, while also allowing manual collation as a backup where technology fails. The decision followed days of public pressure and a dramatic review of a controversial clause in the Electoral Act Amendment Bill, 2026. While lawmakers say the mixed system balances transparency with Nigeria’s network realities, critics warn that allowing manual results to override electronic ones could reopen the door to manipulation. #SoThisHappened #ElectoralReform #2027Elections #NigeriaPolitics #INEC #viralpost #punchnewspapers ----- What is this channel all about?
