S4 E12: The End of the Year, The Loop of Fear

Description

Season 4 · Episode 12 — The End of the Year, The Loop of Fear. A clock ticks in the dark. The sound grows until it becomes footsteps, a heartbeat, a path that always leads back to the same room. In this special year‑end episode, we explore the walang katapusan—the curse of the endless: cyclical misfortune, inherited trauma, and the folklore that frames them. From a rice‑field town in Capiz where families can’t leave, to Iloilo heirlooms that refuse to be forgotten, to modern diseases and social wounds that replay across generations, tonight’s stories ask: what happens when suffering never stops? Listen to listener submissions, local myths (gumon, nuno sa punso, manananggal), and the hard explanations of genetics and history. We trace loops of fear across the Philippines and the world—how vows, violence, and silence bind people to repeating tragedies, and how storytelling can either trap us or help set us free. Trigger warning: tales in this episode dwell on trauma, intergenerational pain, and disturbing folklore. Please listen with care.
