This morning prayer is for the one who cannot stop overthinking. It is for the soul who carries a multitude of worries before their feet even touch the floor. It is for the heart that has tried to think its way out of fear and only grown more tired. Today, the God who calms the restless mind comes near, and He speaks peace over your thoughts in the mighty name of Jesus. Pray this prayer with me, or simply listen in faith and let every word settle deep into your spirit. By the end of this prayer, the spirit of fear and overthinking must release you, and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your heart and your mind. Inside this morning prayer, we will look at three powerful truths from Scripture: 1. God Himself quiets the anxious and restless mind - the multitude of comforts that delight the soul, the perfect peace promised to the mind stayed on Him, and the story of Hannah who walked away with a calm heart before her answer came (Psalm 94:19, Philippians 4:6-7, Isaiah 26:3, 1 Samuel 1:18). 2. The freedom of casting every care upon the Lord - the holy exchange Jesus invites you into, the rest He gives to the weary, and the story of Martha learning to serve from peace instead of anxiety (1 Peter 5:7, Psalm 55:22, Matthew 11:28, Luke 10:41).
