Mom of San Diego shooter reported her weapons and vehicle missing, said son was “suicidal”: police

Description

A deadly shooting at San Diego's largest mosque left three men dead on Monday afternoon – including a security guard who worked at the place of worship. “I don't want to speculate, but at this point, I think it's fair to say, his [the security guard’s] actions were heroic and undoubtedly he saved lives today,” San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl said in a secondary update on Monday evening. Though Wahl made clear that the 17 and 18-year-old suspects – who were later found dead of self-inflicted gunshot wounds – did not specifically threaten the Islamic Center of San Diego before their attack, authorities are investigating “general hate speech” from the two, which he said “covered a wide gamut.” Wahl also revealed one of the suspect’s mothers reported earlier in the morning that her son was missing along with her weapons and vehicle, and that she believed he was suicidal. When responding to the reports of an active shooter at the mosque, Wahl said teams received a report of a landscaper being shot at a few blocks away from the institute. The investigation is ongoing, but Wahl said that victim was “going to be okay.” For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca/news/11854478/san-diego-mosque-shooting/ Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Follow Global News on X HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on TikTok HERE: https://www.tiktok.com/@globalnews.ca?lang=en #GlobalNews #SanDeigo #MassShooting
