Description

Meet Mikhail — a 12-year-old boy from one of the largest brothels in the world who now dreams of becoming a government official to serve his community. His story is proof that where you're born doesn't have to determine where you're going. In this episode, Sarah shares her interview with Mikhail, a graduate of our NightCare program in Bangladesh, and unpacks the complex cultural, religious, and economic realities shaping the lives of children born into Bangladesh's brothel communities. Sarah walks through the geography and context of Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India — including why Bangladesh's unique history, near-total Muslim majority, extreme poverty, and government-sanctioned brothel system create such a distinct and urgent need. You'll hear about Daulatdia, one of the largest brothels in the world, where one of our NightCare centers operates — and about the layers of sex work in Bangladesh, from sanctioned brothel communities to illegal "hotel" workers to the largely invisible population of "floating" sex workers, thousands of whom are unregistered and entirely without protection. At the heart of it all is our core belief: every little one born into these communities deserves honor, safety, tender care, and a real shot at a future. Mikhail is what's possible. And there are thousands more like him waiting for the same chance. 🔔 Subscribe so you don't miss future episodes. 📲 Share this episode with someone who needs to hear that hope is possible anywhere. 🌍 Learn more or get involved: https://www.savingmoses.org/donate-to-saving-moses/ ✨ Connect on Facebook: www.facebook.com/savingmoses 🆇 Follow on X: https://x.com/savingmoses 📸 Engage on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/savingmoses
