Judging Characters that Intimidate Us, Bullying on Set | Mamodibe Ramodibe and Mamarumo Marokane

Description

In this heartfelt episode of Inside Acting, Mamodibe Ramodibe and Mamarumo Marokane reflect on the responsibility of telling South African stories with authenticity, strength and cultural truth. Mamarumo shares how she initially resisted playing Vuvu on Scandal!, only to discover a deep connection that reshaped her understanding of the character — and herself. Mamodibe opens up about portraying Buang on Outlaws, a performance so transformative she now watches it and hardly recognises herself. Together they explore acting in one’s own language, the discipline of stepping into unfamiliar tongues, and the profound healing that can happen when an actor walks a path that mirrors their own life. This is a conversation about purpose, identity, and answering the call to act. Watch. Reflect. Share. Connect with us @insidestorynetwork @insideacting_
