I Worked Inside Nassau County Jail — Here's What Really Goes On Behind Those Walls | Officer Wayne James

Description

Officer Wayne James studied criminal justice and psychology in college, always knew he wanted to work in law enforcement, and has spent four years as a correction officer at Nassau County Correctional Center — building a firsthand understanding of prison politics, inmate behavior, and the specific daily reality of what life inside a county correctional facility actually looks like from the officer managing it. In this episode of Locked In with Ian Bick, he shares what his upbringing gave him that protected him from going down the wrong path, what working inside Nassau County Jail really looks like, what prison politics and the culture behind slashings actually involve, what the difference between working with male and female inmates actually requires of an officer, and what building genuine respect from inmates actually looks like from the person who has to do it every single shift. _____________________________________________ #correctionalofficers #nassaucounty #truecrimestories #prisonguard _____________________________________________ Connect with Wayne James: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/officer_waynejames/ Buy his Book: https://www.amazon.com/Power-Perception-Wayne-Daion-James/dp/B0H2X48VBT?tag=smgglusdsadts-20&ref=&adgrpid=195855865845&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=812900394363&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2786760930931149643&hvqmt=a&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9016137&hvtargid=kwl-2484167636399&hvext=373771806062&hvcampaign=23946688003&hydadcr=17332_13842016_2502554&mcid=&hvocijid=2786760930931149643--&hvexpln=0&language=en_US _____________________________________________ Hosted, Executive Produced & Edited By Ian Bick: https://www.instagram.com/ian_bick/?hl=en https://ianbick.com/ _____________________________________________ Timestamps: 00:00 Introduction to Officer Wayne James 00:33 Growing Up in a Two-Parent Household 01:47 Martial Arts and Discipline 02:17 The Importance of Structure 02:58 Early Dream of Law Enforcement 04:07 Degrees in Sociology and Pre-Law 05:48 Applying Education on the Job 07
