How Your Tech Is Being Used for Genocide | Gaza Diaries | Paul Biggar & Dr. Omar Suleiman

Description

Dr. Omar Suleiman sits down with Paul Biggar for a discussion on the corruption and misuse of technology in enabling the ongoing genocide in Gaza. In November 2023, Paul Biggar authored a compelling piece titled "I Can't Sleep" and launched "Tech for Palestine" as a response to combat the exploitation of technology in this humanitarian crisis. They also explore how major tech corporations have supported Israel’s actions and suppressed Palestinian voices and dissent. #omarsuleiman #gaza #technology #palestine 0:00 - I can’t sleep 3:37 - Introduction to Paul Biggar 6:45 - How does tech contribute to apartheid? 11:20 - Social media platforms as a force for evil 15:27 - Genocide… Bad for business? 18:30 - Exposing the hidden companies that are complicit 24:13 - Can we make change from within? 28:26 - Tech for Palestine 29:56 - What can everyone else do to help? 33:22 - The Irish-Palestinian connection, and beyond 37:14 - What has Paul Biggar learned about the Palestinians and their faith 39:28 - What does success look like, in 10 years?
