Andrea shares her remarkable story of being cut from the US Olympic team eight times before finally making the 1994 World Cup roster and the 1996 Atlanta Olympic team, and we dig into the powerful mental frameworks she's developed through decades of working with NFL athletes, Fortune 500 executives, and Special Operations soldiers. We cover the critical difference between persistence and perseverance, why your goal must be bigger than your fear, the danger of tying your entire identity to a single role or achievement, and how the "Confident Performer" framework — built on a foundational pyramid of human-first identity, whole-person health habits, and elite mental skills — can transform the way you show up whether you're on the field or in the boardroom. If you've ever struggled with self-doubt, broken promises to yourself, or wondered what separates those who reach the top from those who quit, this conversation will challenge and inspire you in equal measure. --- About Dr Andrea Wieland: Dr. Andrea Wieland is a licensed psychologist, peak performance coach, author, and former Olympic athlete who competed in field hockey at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games — in her own hometown.
