From a Broken Knee to the NFL | Miles Burris on Faith, Identity & Purpose

Description

Former Raiders linebacker and actor Miles Burris joins Joe Adams on the Relentless Pursuit Podcast to share his journey from a childhood chickenpox-related knee infection and doctors discouraging football to being drafted by the Raiders in 2012. He discusses his short NFL career cut by chronic knee issues, the identity and depression that followed, and how his wife and faith helped him transition into acting, screenwriting, and ultimately content creation. Burris describes booking early acting roles, facing long droughts and Hollywood pressures, and making a difficult career decision to honor his marriage boundaries, which later led to new opportunities including a film role where his wife could stand in. He explains his daily life, creative process, and message for people in dark seasons: keep moving, new passions can emerge, and maximize what God put in you.
