Chris Ross: From Benched Rookie to Finals MVP 🏆 | The Real Grind | Let It Fly S3 Ep10

Description

Fresh off another championship, Christopher “C-Ross” Ross pulls up to the Let It Fly Podcast and this one goes DEEP. From being out of the rotation as a rookie… To getting traded early in his career… To becoming one of the most respected guards in PBA history… This episode is about resilience, leadership, and betting on yourself. This isn’t just basketball talk. This is about legacy. About staying ready when the league doubts you. About trusting your work when nobody else does. Let It Fly is real conversations with the guys who lived it. No scripts. No filters. Just hoopers telling the truth. ____ Join us on your favorite platform! 💬 Discord: https://discord.gg/4m3b8zbr7A 🖼️ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/letitflypodcast/ ____ 🦄 Get 100 free credits when you use our link: https://bit.ly/JoinDFLetItFly 00:00 – Intro: JD & Gabe welcome viewers 00:26 – Chris Ross introduced (Top 50 all-time talk) 01:10 – Fresh off another championship 01:46 – Repping San Antonio 02:08 – Filipino upbringing & Air Force family 03:00 – Multi-sport childhood (baseball, basketball, football) 04:09 – Playing tackle football at 5 years old 05:04 – D1 football letters flooding in 06:02 – Starting QB & corner in high school 06:43 – 0–10 to playoff turnaround season 07:21 – Brother’s Naval Academy connection 08:00 – Winning State Championship (Junior Year) 08:29 – Half-court buzzer beater to win state 09:03 – ESPN Top Plays recognition 09:25 – Illegal NBA agent training story 10:18 – Venice Beach summer with NBA pros 10:28 – Training with Penny Hardaway 10:55 – Adidas Texas Blue Chips & stacked AAU team 11:36 – Playing with LaMarcus Aldridge 12:51 – Choosing pro training over AAU circuit 13:06 – Senior year football offers (Baylor & Kansas) 13:38 – Almost committing to Texas Tech 14:17 – Football vs Basketball decision 15:01 – Betting on himself – JUCO route 17:40 – Life in East Texas JUCO (the trenches) 🇵🇭 PBA Journey Begins 26:35 – Teammate Trey Whitt & Athletes in Action PH trip 27:19 – Filipino upbringing influence 30:42 – Ear
