We Wrestle: The Best Of WCW

Long before the nWo invasion, WCW was a land of wrestling innovation and variety that its northern competitor refused to embrace. The trailblazing Cruiserweight division provided a platform for future legends like Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerrero, and Rey Mysterio Jr. to showcase their revolutionary, high-flying style. Meanwhile, unstoppable monsters like Big Van Vader brought a level of brutal realism and believability to the World Heavyweight Championship that was unmatched. The company was built on legendary rivalries and emotional, long-term storytelling that captivated audiences. Witness Ric Flair's triumphant return home to reclaim his throne in an emotional, career-defining feud against the monstrous Vader. Relive the intensely personal war between "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Ric Flair, a blood feud that blurred the lines between reality and performance and followed them from the grand stage of the WWF's Wrestlemania to WCW.WCW was also the home of some of the most creative and memorable gimmick matches in wrestling history. From the strategic, two-ring cage warfare of WarGames: The Match Beyond, to the sheer spectacle of the 60-man, three-ring World War III battle royal, WCW's signature events were epic in scale. These unique concepts provided a yearly destination for settling the biggest scores. This book looks beyond the black and white of the New World Order to explore the moments, matches, and superstars that made WCW the only true competition WWE has ever had.
