The Ship of State: Book Four: A Young President Slogs through a Grueling Re-election Campaign

Re-election is looming and President Burlington must select a new VP nominee. All the while, he will have to deal with contentious political, social, and international issues as the progressive Democratic political machine attacks him and his policies with their litany of dirty tricks. The president’s re-election campaign counters with a series of policy proposals that change the way the Federal government taxes American workers, educates our children, and reforms entitlements, while reducing the size and scope of the Federal government. However, time is running out for his first term and he knows that losing the reelection will mean the undoing of all his efforts to help make America great again.Dishonest politicians aren’t his only threat to worry about. When a domestic terror attack strikes late in the grueling campaign, the president is shaken and must dig down deep to be the leader America needs, all while the First Lady experiences a personal struggle of her own.Can the First Family weather the onslaughts of personal attacks and acts of terror threatening to unhinge the greatest country in the world? And what will be the results of this brutal re-election?Realistic political fiction seemingly ripped straight from the headlines of today’s news where the clashing between a conservative president and the foul machinations of his opposition reach all-time highs. If you enjoyed the movie, The American President or the hit TV series, The West Wing, you'll love The Ship of State.Read more
