From Russia With ...: Hundred Facts About The Most Contradictory Part Of The World

What do you know about Russia? It is the country that held the USSR together, and it remains the successor to the Soviet Union. It is a country of great victories and as great repressions. With a beautiful and tragic past, its rather disappointing present, and an unclear future, Russia, as Winston Churchill once famously commented, remains “a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.”Who is to blame? And What is to do?“From Russia with …” contains an honest and witty, politically sharpened collection of facts about Russia with a number of lyrical digressions, picked up by a young Russian author Karina Orlova. The book provides an easy-to-feel image of life in Russia, giving ground for reflection and further exploration of this extraordinary country. Thoughtful and readable, sometimes provocative, the book will keep you cosy company on the trip or over an evening cup of tea.Read more
