InEVEN HIS ENEMIES CRIED: The Assassination of Yitzhak Rabin of Israel, Janvier T. Chando provides the reader with a succinct and insightful account of Yitzhak Rabin that helps us understand his world, the turbulent region he was born in, the complexity of geopolitics and what leadership entails ― confidence, courage, compassion, inspiration, knowledge, understanding, integrity, fairness, motivation. The mind-blowing account takes us through Yitzhak Rabin's journey as a shy boy pushed by the exigencies of his time to become a soldier and play an outstanding role on the battlefields in the "Holy Land "in shaping the state of Israel during its war of Independence, otherwise called the First Arab-Israeli War. The author's recount of Rabin’s post-independence life as a soldier shows us the pivotal roles he played in the second and third Arab-Israeli Wars that made him one of Israel's legendary generals. However, it is Rabin's post-army years serving Israel that show his mettle as an exemplary leader confident enough to chat a path that would move Israel and the rest of the Middle East out of the impasse of conflict into a future that would be good for humanity by making tough decisions that made him a lonely man in his overcrowded world.
