Drinksgiving

It’s the long Thanksgiving weekend in the tiny upstate New York town of Rose Garden, and Bernice is full of two things: herself, and beer.Ostensibly back in her hometown to celebrate the holiday with her family, she hits $2 beer night at the only bar around so hard that she tangles up with the sleaziest local character. And when she wakes up in his bed on Thanksgiving morning, the guy doesn’t appear to be breathing. Now Bernice must go to absurd lengths to make it home for dinner while also clearing her name and without anyone finding out about her woefully ill-advised hook-up.The turkey and pie move all the more out of reach upon the arrival of a foe (or possibly friend) — the dirtbag’s devoted girlfriend who will do anything in the name of love, even robbing a bank.Happy Drinksgiving, everybody?Dewey Lovettis a comedian from Los Angeles. This is her first novel.“A nailbiter where horrible things keep happening to horrible people, but I still found myself rooting for everyone. This book is funny, unpredictable, and heartwarming.
