Compatibility

COURAGE - CHARACTER - CONVICTIONStom Carpenter has always lived on the fringes, navigating the confusing and isolating world of high school under an assumed name. Unseen for who he really is, and standing out only for his differences, he’s a silent giant in the halls—a boy whose quiet nature and intense focus make him an easy target for ridicule. Misunderstood by his peers and even by himself, Stom carries the weight of struggles he can’t explain, living in a time when words like "autism" and "neurodivergent" were rarely spoken and even less understood.COMPATIBILITY WAS ONLY A NUMBER, BUT THAT NUMBER WAS NEXT TO HER NAME.STOM'S WORLD JUST CHANGED FOREVER.The school’s compatibility test was meant to be a harmless fundraiser—a fun way to encourage students to buy flowers and ask their "best match" to the dance. Even though a quarter was a stretch for his empty pockets, Stom takes a leap. He never expected to see Jenessa’s name at the top of his list. Suddenly, the world he thought he knew begins to shift. When Stom buys a single flower to invite Jenessa Labours to the dance, two worlds collide: his world of silence and solitude, and hers of cleverness and courage. Together, they navigate the stormy waters of high school—facing mockery, a mosquito picnic, painful misunderstandings, and hidden truths. In the process, Stom might just discover that being different doesn’t mean being alone—and that love and friendship can reach beyond the invisible barriers of the mind.Read more
