Chronicles of the Sober Few: The Unseen Side of Military Life

“It made me laugh so hard I cried. Not quite pissing-pants funny, but definitely entertaining.”— MWW in Mn, Amazon reviewer“The best book I’ve ever read!”— Soto(which to be fair, doesn’t mean much. Soto is in the book and also hasn’t read very many books.)“Ihope you do a second one. That was epic.”— Some guy named Chris(not in the book, and I assume Chris reads)“Meh, it was okay.”—some dude on Facebook (Can’t win ’em all, I guess.)No medals. No glory. Just a bunch of barely-functioning paratroopers stuck overseas during COVID, trying to survive Army leadership, wild boars, and each other.Chronicles of the Sober Fewis the funniest military memoir you've never heard of—written by a former 173rd Airborne sergeant who somehow made it out with most of his dignity and zero discipline. What if the Army had a blooper reel? This is it—told by the guys who lived it and somehow didn’t get court-martialed.You’ll read about:–Friendships built in the dirt that will last a lifetime–What exactly is a surface shitter(hint: it’s not a hard guess)–A missing garbage bag filled with $15,000 of government property–How the government spends all of our hard-earned tax dollarsThis is a darkly funny, brutally honest look at life in the enlisted ranks.100% self-published, so there’s no PR filter, no politics, and no one telling me to cut the part about the buttcrack sunburn. If you’ve ever worn the uniform—or just wondered what really goes on behind the curtain—this will feel like swapping stories around a fire… the kind of fire that started because someone thought it’d be funny to light an MRE heater under the S3’s truck.Warning:Not for the easily offended. Perfect for the recently enlisted, the formerly enlisted, or anyone who's ever screamed“What the hell are we doing?”in uniform. And if any future private out there brings this as their one book to basic training, I’ll sign it myself. You’ve got bigger problems, but I respect the hustle.Read more
