#3-JAKE WALKER TEXAS RANGER: #3 - REVOLT

#3-"REVOLT" IS THE BEST OF THE BEST WESTERNS BY THE INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED AUTHOR D.M. HAGGARD.Many might say this is a work of fiction. That's only partially true. This is a book about one of the most tragic events in Texas and Texas Ranger history. The Texas Rangers were mostly involved in dispensing justice in the Texas wilderness because it was where they needed to be to catch criminals. This is a story about when our heroic Texas Rangers had to surrender to four hundred U.S. and Mexican citizens in a small town south of El Paso. Most of the time our Texas Rangers were both heroic and bigger than the life around them. Is this a historical document? Sorta. Some is fiction, but most is a true story about what happened when a lawyer from St. Louis gained the mineral rights to all the salt flats in the Guadalupe Mountains of Texas for him and his business partner's private gain. And, how the Texas Rangers stood to defend the Texas law that had been changed for the benefit of the wealthy minority. This story is the bloody truth about Mexican and U.S. citizens who were fed up with those who tried to take over a land and the right to harvest minerals that had existed for 2,000 years and the justice these folks experienced from these local citizens. This book is about what can happen when greedy powerful men and women attempt to suppress and take advantage of everyday working citizens like you and me. Hang onto your hats, folks. This will be a rough ride.Read more
