Brigadier Mbangwa Nkwashu appeared before the Madlanga Commission on 22 April 2026 and admitted under oath that he believed alleged cartel boss KT Molefe used a multi-billion rand retirement job offer as bait to get him to interfere in the bail case of murder-accused police detective Michael Pule Tau. Nkwashu confirmed his registered Ford Raptor was driven by KT Molefe's wife to Molefe's murder court date, disclosed a second prison visit to Molefe that was missing from his sworn statement, and conceded before the commission that the meeting arranged by Molefe's wife was on its face arranged for the purpose of the bail request. The commission also heard that Nkwashu wrote the word "someone" in his sworn affidavit when referring to KT Molefe, changed it to "brother-in-law" only when the evidence leader caught it live on the record. #madlangacommission #ktmolefe #catmatlala
