Novo Nordisk has launched Wegovy in the Philippines, a semaglutide-based medication designed to help Filipinos with obesity or who are overweight manage their condition and address related comorbidities. Wegovy works by mimicking the body’s natural GLP-1 hormone, helping users feel fuller and potentially supporting weight reduction when combined with proper diet and exercise. The company said that Wegovy is different from Ozempic, its earlier semaglutide-based drug introduced in 2017.
