The Stark Munro Letters II - Home, 10th April, 1881

Paglalarawan

In which our observant narrator recounts a visit to Avonmouth to see his old friend Cullingworth, whose financial ruin and spirited nature are revealed through lively conversation and boisterous bouts of boxing. Together with a vivid portrayal of their characters and surroundings, the letter captures the melancholy humour and dashed hopes that underpin this episode of life’s trials and endeavours.
