The Observer Book Club with Margaret Busby

Paglalarawan

Catch up with the Observer Book Club in the newsroom with the legendary Margaret Busby, trailblazing publisher, editor and author of Daughters of Africa, as she discusses her illuminating new book Part of the Story. Drawing on six decades at the heart of British publishing - from being the UK's youngest and first Black female publisher to championing overlooked voices across the African diaspora - Busby reflects on a career of breakthroughs, barriers and bold choices. Blending memoir, cultural history and sharp-eyed critique, this is a vital account of who gets to tell stories, whose narratives endure, and how publishing can - and must - evolve. Together, we ask: What does it take to rewrite the canon from the margins? How have Black women shaped British letters? And where does the industry go from here?
