The Gamble of Danantara - Pandu Sjahrir

Paglalarawan

Danantara, Indonesia’s newest mega Sovereign Wealth Fund set to manage thousands of trillions of rupiah, launched right in the middle of a storm of BUMN corruption cases—and yeah, people are skeptical. Concerns over conflict of interest, potential corruption, and political meddling have already cast a shadow over the fund before it even starts moving money. In this episode, we sat down with Pandu Sjahrir, the freshly appointed Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Danantara. He’s got the credentials—undergrad at University of Chicago, master’s from Stanford GSB, Founding Partner of AC Ventures, Commissioner of the Indonesia Stock Exchange, and VP Director at TBS Energi Utama. But what most people really know him for? Being Luhut Pandjaitan’s nephew (yes, that Luhut—Google him). We talked about why he took the job, how Danantara plans to stay clean, what he’d do if Jokowi or SBY asked for a “favor,” who's gonna audit the fund, the crash of IHSG, and how he deals with the whole "born into privilege" narrative. ------------------ What is up, Indonesia?
