Mike Hanopol Breaks Down His Greatest Hits in Pinoy Rock: Juan Dela Cruz Band, Hagibis

Paglalarawan

Mike Hanopol has a philosophical approach to music, insisting that his songs always impart a “moral lesson.” As the former bassist of Juan Dela Cruz Band, he’s one of the few Filipino musicians who can speak about the rise of ‘70s Filipino rock as someone who actually lived it. On this episode of Rolling Stone Philippines’ Greatest Hits, Hanopol offers exclusive insight into some of his most iconic songs, from “Balong Malalim” as the vocalist and bass guitarist of Pinoy rock pioneers Juan Dela Cruz Band to Hagibis’ “Katawan,” which he composed, to his solo work in tracks like “No Touch” and “Laki sa Layaw.” Only on Rolling Stone Philippines.
