Inside COP, Culture & the Climate Fight from the Global South — and the Power of 'No'

Paglalarawan

What really happens inside COP climate summits? How is culture a tool—not just for storytelling, but for survival—in the climate fight? And what does it mean to take rejection and turn it into momentum? In this episode, we sit down with Gunjan Nanda, climate organiser, cultural strategist, and co-founder of the Entertainment + Culture Pavilion and the Dubai Climate Collective. Gunjan shares what it means to build something from scratch, center community in climate work, and lead with both fire and softness. We talk about the inner workings of climate diplomacy, the role of creative industries in systemic change, the Global South’s seat at the table, and the personal power of hearing “no.” Images from COP Summits: copyright of to Entertainment + Culture Pavillion India heatmap: From paper “Future of the human niche”, published in PNAS by Xu, Chi et al.
