Former professional hockey player Jacob Newton spent 15 years chasing the game, including 10 years professionally and seven seasons across Europe, but the toughest battle was happening beneath the surface. In this episode of Living Your Legacy, Newton and author Andrew Bajda unpack the journey behind The Tears of Happy Jake, a story that goes far beyond hockey. They explore how childhood trauma can follow someone into adulthood, why athletes are real people rather than machines, and what it takes to confront the past instead of suffering in silence.
