Francesca Albanese: In Her Own Words

Paglalarawan

The US federal court has temporarily blocked sanctions against Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur for the occupied Palestinian territories, ruling that the US government violated her free speech rights. However, the US government has now filed an emergency appeal, seeking to reinstate sanctions on Albanese. Albanese was sanctioned over her recommendation to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to pursue war crimes prosecutions against Israeli officials over their actions in Gaza. She also published a report accusing major Western corporations of complicity in Israel’s genocidal war. On this special edition of The Newsmakers, Francesca Albanese talks about the cost of speaking out against Israel’s actions and the powerful efforts to silence her.
