CONDO DUES INCREASE: Legal or illegal?

Under Republic Act No. 9904, the Condominium Act, and relevant housing regulations, a condo corporation cannot arbitrarily increase association dues. By law, a valid increase requires: ✔️ A clear basis in the by-laws ✔️ Proper notice and transparency ✔️ Approval by a majority of the members ✔️ A reasonable amount imposed after a hearing or consultation If these requirements are absent, the charge is questionable — and may be illegal.
